This glossary is intended to assist people in learning medical phrases that they would encounter in hospitals. It will benefit those who wish to enroll in the Nursing programme. It contains Nursing terms, parts of speech, definitions in sentence case from Google Search using "define" + the term, text-to-speech pronunciation models, images from Wikimedia Commons, automatic translations to French, and authentic example sentences from the several internet page.There will be 20 different terms.

- A condition marked by severe pain in the chest, often also spreading to the shoulders, arms, and neck, caused by an inadequate blood supply to the heart.

- anti-inflammatory
- noun
- Anti-inflammatory is the property of a substance or treatment that reduces inflammation or swelling. Anti-inflammatory drugs, also called anti-inflammatories, make up about half of analgesics.
- Example: My doctor gave me anti-inflammatory tablets, but there has been no change.

- biopsy
- noun
- A biopsy is a medical test commonly performed by a surgeon, interventional radiologist, or an interventional cardiologist. The process involves extraction of sample cells or tissues for examination to determine the presence or extent of a disease.

- blood pressure
- noun
- Blood pressure is the pressure of circulating blood against the walls of blood vessels. Most of this pressure results from the heart pumping blood through the circulatory system. When used without qualification, the term "blood pressure" refers to the pressure in the large arteries.

- inflammation of subcutaneous connective tissue.
- Example: I didnt start getting cellulite till I was 22, I am now 24.

- defibrillator
- noun
- Defibrillation is a treatment for life-threatening cardiac dysrhythmias, specifically ventricular fibrillation and non-perfusing ventricular tachycardia. A defibrillator delivers a dose of electric current to the heart.
- Example: Mr and Mrs wort then went on to raise more funds and donated a defibrillator to Frome Victoria Hospital.

- noun
- A disease is an abnormal condition that negatively affects the structure or function of all or part of an organism, and that is not due to any immediate external injury. Diseases are often known to be medical conditions that are associated with specific signs and symptoms.
- Example: They are working to stop the spread of disease in rural areas.

- noun
- Break or cause to break.
- Example: Bone density testing can predict the risk for fracture.

- gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
- noun
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the tube connecting your mouth and stomach (esophagus). This backwash (acid reflux) can irritate the lining of your esophagus. Many people experience acid reflux from time to time.

- heart attack

- A sudden and sometimes fatal occurrence of coronary thrombosis, typically resulting in the death of part of a heart muscle.

- hypotension
- noun
- Hypotension, also known as low blood pressure, is a blood pressure under 90/60 mm/Hg. In many people, it has no symptoms. When it does cause symptoms, these are usually unpleasant or disruptive, including dizziness, fainting and more.

- injection
- noun
- An injection is the act of administering a liquid, especially a drug, into a person's body using a needle and a syringe. An injection is considered a form of parenteral drug administration; it does not involve absorption in the digestive tract.

- Medical imaging is the technique and process of imaging the interior of a body for clinical analysis and medical intervention, as well as visual representation of the function of some organs or tissues.

- A feeling of sickness with an inclination to vomit.

- neutrophils
- noun
- Neutrophils are the most abundant type of granulocytes and make up 40% to 70% of all white blood cells in humans. They form an essential part of the innate immune system, with their functions varying in different animals.

- Pathology is the study of the causes and effects of disease or injury. The word pathology also refers to the study of disease in general, incorporating a wide range of biology research fields and medical practices.

- pulmonary embolism
- noun
- A pulmonary embolism (PE) is a blood clot that develops in a blood vessel in the body (often in the leg). It then travels to a lung artery where it suddenly blocks blood flow.
- Example: He died of a pulmonary embolism after a routine knee operation.

- noun
- Surgery is a medical or dental specialty that uses operative manual and instrumental techniques on a person to investigate or treat a pathological condition such as a disease or injury, to help improve bodily function, appearance, or to repair unwanted ruptured areas.
- Example: The doctor has recommended surgery. He has recently undergone surgery on his shoulder.

- noun
- A stitch or row of stitches holding together the edges of a wound or surgical incision.
- Example: Sutures are removed on the 5th to 7th day after the operation.

- noun
- A substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases, prepared from the causative agent of a disease, its products, or a synthetic substitute, treated to act as an antigen without inducing the disease.
- Example: Every year the flu vaccine is modified to deal with new strains of the virus.
